Increase Ignore Limit
Increase the ignore limit or make it infinite.
Its the best way to handle spammers and abusive wisping. If they realise that we can ignore an unlimited number of people, then they might learn.
Plus it would just help, instead of having to remove others from the ignore list to add someone else.
I suggest this because last week I had an individual spam me with "noob" continually for 10 minutes. All I had done, was to wisper this individual saying that the weapon he was spamming the chat channel to buy wasnt very good in my opinion.
Had he then asked why, I was going to give some advice. Whether that advice was good or bad, make no difference. I was going to offer information which I felt would help him.
But he started spamming me with "noob" after I wispered him just the once.
I messaged him twice during the spamming of "noob", to ask why he was doing that and to ask him to stop. He continued. Now im hardly upset or bothered about it and just waited for the idiot to finally stop.
But its unnacceptable and when I went to add him to my ignore list I had to remove someone else. Something which isnt hard to do, but its something I dont want to do.
So I came to the conclusion we need to increase the limit.
As for the other people who have taken up the ignore space. They are either spammers who I added when I first started my character or they harrassed me in some way which I cant remember.
Since no one bothered to ask: I filled my ingore list over a 2 year period. Not a few weeks or months. So dont suggest ive filled it up over a short period of time.
Increasing the ignore limit will not harm anyone or effect the gameplay in the slightest. The only effect is will have is a good one. You cant say that its unjustified just because you personally have never experienced abuse, because there are bound to be several 1000 people who have. Whether it be severe or miner.
And no I have never provoked any trouble ingame. I speak to all persons with respect and dignity. If you choose not to believe that, then fine, thats your choice.
But if your one of those who feel ignorant enough to suggest that all abuse is provoked and deserved, you need to grow up and look at the real world.
If a bloke was to be attacked outside a pub on a friday night along with his ex-g/f, by a 6 large gang, would you then say to him "ok, what did you do to provoke it"? I would very much hope not. (personal experience)
People do abuse and attack others without provication. If your unaware of that, then you need to get away from your computers and experience how bad the world can be.
If your one of those people who would actually do the abusing or attacking, or you would get some sick pleasure out of knowing about it, then your a sad individual and you need to grow up.
And I dont feel the "just turn off the chat window" is an option, because you may need to use it. So why should we be stopped using it by spammers?
And if I place someone on the ignore list, I dont want to have to remove them a day later or a week later if I run out of space. I put them there for a reason.
And its not always a case of just ignoring abuse. Young children play this game and some individuals are extremely vulnerable to abuse. They can take it personally and to heart.
I have played with and known players ingame who are very emotionally unstable and can easily get upset at very little things. Its these people we need to protect. Its these people who need this more then anyone.

I'm not sure what sense it makes to ignore spammers. If you don't like it, uncheck all chat. It's way easier then putting everyone on ignore.

I have to ask how someone list gets filled up as well.
My ignore list is usually zero. I think once it had one person, because someone I didn't know suddenly decided to keep sending whispers to me asking me really obscene and bizarre questions.

I use ignore to filter out the hijacking 55 monks that plague ToA. If they're on my ignore list, they don't get on my teams. And it does fill up very fast.

/notsigned for the billionth time.
Just take some people off. There is no reason to keep some of those people on there. Chances are, they've forgotten about you. So just... take them off. It's called upkeep.

LOL! I remember this arrogant ass warrior who was level 18 and "helping" me out on that mission, insisted he run down and kill all the char instead of me just using the catapault, and the guy had really been on my nerves the whole time...
So he and his two little suck-up puppies ran down to fight the char, while I stood by the catapault... and then I got the idea to kill them all.
I have never laughed so hard playing this game then to see all three of them die and start Q_Q'ing at me. Ahhh... good times. I finished the mission solo anyways after they rage quited.

Yes, you have to chat with people who you do not already know non-stop in order for this game to be fun and it is nearly impossible for you to ignore their messages that they are posting. And these ignorant children always write your screen name down on there "Female Dog List" and as soon as you take them off of your ignore list a couple hours later they message you cruel posts. But I have learned not to chat with people I don't know well on Guild Wars and I have not ignored anyone in 2 months. Amazing huh?

Isn't the ignore list only something like 15 names? I don't remember, but I had to clear a bunch of people from it today too add in some annoying people offering me half of what I was asking for an item I was selling. They continued spamming me after I declined them.

I rarely have problems with people harassing me. If it might be that I can't shut him/her up, I put him/her on the ignore list, let him/her be there for a day, and then I take him/her off of it. I never had any whispers afterwards. And please note that the "shut up" part is done in a polite and intelligent way. I talk to them and ask things where they have got nothing to say about it. I just "pwn" them.

I clear out my ignore list whenever it gets full, but a single session with Gaile Grey (before someone started silencing the spamming idiots) was usually enough to get my ignore list full, between people spamming and people refusing to actually read what she was saying. Anyone who spammed "Conga" got ignored too.

If it's something that is stored on our computer and not the servers, then I can see that making it infinite would be okay.
